Retail

Converging Systems’ In-Store Presentation System (ISPS), an innovative knowledge-based interactive kiosk system for retail sales is an important point-of-sale tool for stimulating sales and for motivating the customer select the “right product” which might be the more expensive product! The ISPS system has developed over time from basically the first point-of-sale kiosk deployed on a large scale throughout the United States which our team developed key component for in the mid 1980s. This ever popular Hallmark Greeting Card Personalize It!tm system helped drive customers into Hallmark Gold Crown stores and enabled consumers to create their own customized greeting card. Later this system evolved into the award-winning principal ISPS kiosk systems installed within the Home Depot.

Unique to this system is it ability to provide nearly continuous up-time operation. It has successfully stimulated “comp-store” sales and it has motivated customers at the point of sale to select higher-end, higher-gross margin products which has been a boom to both retailers, manufacturers and has been welcomed by consumers throughout the country.

From the research gained as a result of developing the technology for one of the first kiosks systems in the world which has been widely reviewed (Hallmark Greeting Cards), Converging Systems well understands the differences between “computers in retail stores running a application” to a fully customized public-accessible (kiosk) device designed for unattended operation and requiring embedded technology to guarantee nearly bulletproof operation.

Deployment within retail locations with thousands of storefronts presents significant challenges for many smaller kiosk companies. Converging Systems’ capabilities here have enabled large scale deployment of these innovative systems.
