ILC Wiring/Topology
System Requirements
This is how this stuff works
- Length of Wiring Runs
The CS-Bus can be run up to 4000 feet using CAT5 or better wire properly wired with twisted pairs on pins (1/2), (3/4), and (5/6). The CS-Bus is a derivative of a RS-485 network.
- Pin-Outs of the wiring
Straight wiring.Typically this wire color coding shoudl be sued. Pin 1 Blue, Pin 2 Blue/White, Pin 3 Orange, Pin 4 Orange/White, Pin 5 Green, Pin 6 Green/White. The CS-Bus can be run up to 4000 feet using CAT5 or better wire properly wired with twisted pairs on pins (1/2), (3/4), and (5/6). Do not use 568A or 568B wiring as this does not permit a twisted pair on pins 3/4 (of the 6 wires being used on the RJ-45 6P6c connector).
- Permitted Number of Devices on the CS-Bus?
The capabilities of the CS-BUS communication standard perhaps from 1 to 254 ILC-xx0 to be daisy-chained to a single e-Node. Depending upon the bus loading for bi-directional feedback, it has been found that 150-180 controller is often preferred to maintain the most responsive system.
- Splitter Appicability?
The CS-Bus is a derivative of a RS-485 network. Typically, there is a single run with no T's or Y's allowed. See special circumataces for Keypad below.
- Sourcing of RJ-25 connectors
RJ-25 (6P6C) modular plugs are readily available on Amazon for overnight delivery.
- Wire Type Required for CS-Bus wiring.
CAT5 or better wired should be used.
