Failure of one or more ILC-xx0 from being "seen" or "controlled" and therefore they have no perceived light output when connected together on a CS-BUS.
Troubleshooting
Please review this troubleshooting article to identify issues here.
- Bus Type 1 Failure. The first "x" number of ILC-xxx devices connected to each other (and to the e-Node) using CS-BUS cabling (i) can be discovered and (ii) can be controlled with the UI within the e-Node web page.
The most obvious condition here is that the CS-BUS cable from the last working unit to the first non-working unit is either not plugged in, or not wired correctly. There is a small chance the CS-BUS output chip on the last working ILC-xx0 has failed but the probability of that is less than .1%. Other possibilities include:
- Suspect ILC-xx0 units after the first "x" ILC-xx0 units have not been Commissioned so that still have a 2.1.0 ZGN address and will be discovered with RED text (not black) and will not illuminate. Review and correct as necessary.
- Suspect units after the first "x" units may have been Commissioned but have a ZGN address that does not match the ZGN address that was activated by a UI. Review and correct as necessary.
- Suspect units after the first "x" ILC-xx0 units, may not be powered or may not have their load properly wired or plugged in. Review and correct as necessary.
- Suspect units after the first "x" ILC-xx0 units, may not be responding to an ON command (for an ON is where the unit was before it was turned OFF). Better to send out a HSV or CCT+Intensity commands or a valid RECALL,x command to test
- Bus Type 2 Failure. None of the ILC-xxx devices connected to each other (and to the e-Node) using CS-BUS cabling can be discovered AND (ii) None of the ILC-xxx devices connected to each other can be controlled with the UI within the e-Node web page.
The obvious condition here is that the CS-BUS wire running from the e-Node to the first ILC-xx0 is plugged into the wrong Port on the e-Node (use Port 0 only), or the CS-BUS cable is mis-wired, or has a bad termination. Review and correct as necessary. Other possibilities include:
- A CS-BUS cable anywhere in the chain may be shorted that is bringing the entire CS-BUS to an abrupt halt. Review and correct as necessary.
- The load wire from the output terminal of the ILC-xx0 may not be properly connected to the constant voltage linear strip. Review and correct if necessary.
- All of the ILC-xx0 devices may not be receiving DC power (for a circuit breaker has been turned off, or a master switch has been turned off). Review and correct as necessary.
- The e-Node might be in DMX mode or DALI II mode. Reset its Mode to PURE Mode and reboot e-Node and try again.
- An ON command may have been used to theoretically turn on all connected ILC-xx0. The problem might be the ON command (which is an intelligent ON command that goes back to the state the units were at before they were turned OFF) is the culprit here. If all of the ILC-xx0 units were never set to a brightness level whether in HSV or CCT color space, they might otherwise not turn on. Alternatively, use an Intensity command (i.e., SET) with a CCT or Hue command and see if the connected LEDs to the ILC-xx0 then turn on. If this is the case, there was no failure but improper use of the ON command. In the future use a RECALL or SET (brightness) command to turn on a unit.
- Bus Type 3 Failure. >None of the ILC-xxx devices connected to each other (and to the e-Node) using CS-BUS cabling can be controlled (using the e-Node web page UI screen), but some or all of the ILC-xx0 controllers can be Discovered (and displayed on the e-Node web page).
The obvious condition here is that the wrong command is being used to control the connected ILC-xx0 (see Bus Type 2 failure/last bullet). Also. the Zone/Group/Node command might not match the mating ZGN address set on the suspect units. Review and correct as necessary. Other possibilities include:
- The load wire from the output terminal of the ILC-xx0 may not be properly connected to the constant voltage linear strip. Review and correct if necessary.
- The suspect unit(s) may still be Programming Mode after an attempted firmware update occurred (which did not complete successfully and left the ILC-00x in an usual state. Try to perform a firmware Manual Upgrade on any suspect units to see if their on-board LED turns onto GREEN or YELLOW. Please refer to this separate document for how to perform a Manual Firmware Update on these units halt. Review and correct as necessary..

- Bus Type 4 Failure. One or more isolated ILC-xxx devices connected to each other (and to the e-Node) using CS-BUS cabling (i) can not be discovered or (ii) can not be controlled with the UI within the e-Node web page.
The key here is not being able to be discovered. Those impacted units may be simply unplugged from their incoming DC power, or the DC Power Supply Unit has failed, or the wrong voltage of PSU is being used on those suspect units. Check power and retry. Other possibilities include:
- The suspect unit(s) may still be programming mode after an attempted firmware update occurred (which did not complete successfully and left the ILC-00x in an usual state. Try to manual firmware upgrade on any suspect units to see if their on-board LED turns onto GREEN or YELLOW. - Bus Type 5 Failure. One or more isolated ILC-xxx devices connected to each other (and to the e-Node) using CS-BUS cabling (i) can be discovered but (ii) can not be controlled with the UI within the e-Node web page.
All units that can be discovered should be able to be controlled. The most obvious answer here for why discovered units cannot be controlled is that either the wrong command is being used (see Bus Type 3 Failure above) or the Zone/Group/Node command might not match the mating ZGN address set on the suspect units. Review and correct as necessary. Review and correct. Other possibilities include:
