e-Node Power Supply Options

This section details important information regarding the selection of UL approved Power supply Units (PSU) and integration with e-Node xxxx Gateways. In addition, information relating to POE support for e-Node 4x00 gateways is provided.
Class 2 Approved Power Supplies
The e-Node must be driven with a recommended Class 12 to 24vDC power supply as described below. For the e-Node 4x00 Gateway, POE is built-in and in most circumstances can be driven using POE instead (see next section for more information).
CSI Part Number | Rating | Mounting Configuration | Application |
---|---|---|---|
21-1027-000 | 12v 500/1000ma | Wall-wart type | e-Node 2x00 and e-Node 4x00 without POE |

Note: Verify polarity as printed on the device's silk screen label and wire accordingly.
POE (Built-In Standard Feature to e-Node 4x00 Gateways)

Built-in to the e-Node 4x00 Gateways is a Class 0 type POE circuit. Because the e-Node requires less than 2 watts of power, very long runs of LAN cable (and the resulting voltage drop) may cause some early generation POE switches not be able to auto-discover the e-Nodes. In those cases, simply add a Class 2 power supply (see above) and remove the Powered POE connection to the e-Node 4x-- and substitute in a non-powered connection.
