Competitive Advantage of e-Node xxxx Gateways
General Overview of Features and Benefits of Converging Systems technology with respect to DMX control.
- General Description
The e-Node/dmx™ Gateways are an Internet Protocol (IP) based DMX Encoder (master that creates a DMX output stream for downstream DMX encoders/fixture. Converging Systems' engineering and leadership team have a rich history in color management having developed the first color printing technology for the digital printing industry in the '80s that was nearly universally adopted by nearly all of the color printer manufacturers in the world! What differentiated that disruptive technology is similar to what is embedded in our current e-Node/dmx gateways of today--the presence of an integrated color computer that operates in a device independent color space and through the use of (lighting) profiles (closely related to the concept of Printer and Monitor profiles) and a powerful embedded color computer, accurate color as well as spot-on correlated color temperature/CCT output, and .001% dimming with built-in gamma correction (without flicker) is possible. As with our former printing technology and our very early strategic relationship with Microsoft in 1996 that enabled the first color printing device to be supported worldwide (and even before Windows was released), industry-wide adoption of our Device Driver Toolkit (DDK) has enabled compatibility across all relevant players in the automation and lighting panel control industry. The e-Node/dmx and our OEM partners currently support a wide range of DMX monochrome to full color lighting fixtures, including outdoor landscaping devices, and motor and fan control devices as well. And as new DMX fixtures come to market, Converging Systems' cloud-based DMX device updates, insures that any DMX fixture can be supported industry-wide from a common platform.
Read below as to particular features that enable this level of differentiation:
- Fixture control rather than single element (slot control)
- 32 Fixture control regardless of # of DMX channels rather than DMX channel limitations.
- Nearly unlimited number of DMX fixtures can be added to any system.
- Ability to logically associate individual DMX devices into multiple subgroups while still enabling individual control of any DMX fixture.
- AI-assisted DMX slot selection based upon DMX starting address entry.
- Meta-data handshaking with 3rd-party platforms to enable fixture-type/UI selection without programmer intervention.
- Universal support from all lighting and automation panels and ability to co-exist with competitive DMX decoders from other vendors (i.e., Crestron DIN GWDL, Control4, Lutron and Vantage).
- Cloud-based profile selection (without downloading new drivers or slot assignment information).
- Built-in POE support (e-Node 4100)
- Integrated Troubleshooting Tool to test up 512 individual DMX channels without purchasing expensive DMX testers.
- Accurate CCT control from supported DMX fixtures (requires Factory calibration).
- Support of Circadian Lighting from any location throughout the world (north pole to south pole).
